Our Process
At Blackbird Iron & Design, we want you to love your custom ironwork and we sincerely hope to exceed your expectations. Here’s what to expect when working with us.
The proposal Process
Once you’ve contacted us and given us all of the relevant information about your job, we’ll do the following:
1. Site Visit
2. Proposal
We’ll draw up a detailed proposal, including an estimated timeframe, and email that off to you, requesting a 50% deposit.
3. Acceptance
After we received your signed proposal and deposit, you’ll be added to our queue. As we near your start date we’ll notify you and coordinate next steps.
The build Process
When it’s time to start your project, we’ll kick off the process by scheduling another on-site visit. We’ll need to take precise measurements and discuss any dependencies (is there other contract work going on?) Then we’ll do the following:
1. Engineering
Based on all of the information gathered in the site visit, we’ll get it down on graph paper. We engineer your job for both the fabrication and installation steps.
2. Fabrication
Our fabricators will build out the job according to the specs, in our fully equipped shop in Fremont. Everything will be finished and prepped for installation.
3. Installation
Installations vary based on size, type, and location. We’ll let you know what’s involved and keep the inconvenience to a minimum.
